A few big changes this week between 4th and 11th. On reflection I think I have been overrating a few teams for a while now at the expense of others, so hopefully this is a more accurate reflection of where things are at:
Round 15
1. Sydney
2. Carlton
3. Collingwood
4. Brisbane
5. Fremantle
6. GWS
7. Western Bulldogs
8. Essendon
9. Geelong
10. Melbourne
11. Port Adelaide
12. Gold Coast
13. Hawthorn
14. Adelaide
15. St Kilda
16. West Coast
17. Richmond
18. North Melbourne _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

^ GWS too high for mine. Hawthorn are too low. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

It kind of feels that way intuitively, but it's also easy to forget thanks to their more recent form slump that the Giants have also beaten teams in 4th (Brisbane), 5th (Collingwood) and 6th (Geelong) on my ladder, as well as Gold Coast and Port Adelaide.
Hawthorn have also beaten Brisbane comfortably, and then the only other wins they've had against teams placed 1–12 have been narrow wins over the Bulldogs and Giants (they also had close losses against Collingwood and Port). Their wins against bottom 5 sides have tended to be a little more convincing, but I think based on the above you'd still have to have GWS higher, even if you might make a case for them to be ranked closer.
Hawthorn's next three weeks (vs Geelong, Fremantle and Collingwood) will be a good test of how they fare against serious opposition. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go 0–3, which would reflect where I've ranked them, but if they can get a couple of wins there then maybe the hype is justified. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Yeah... If Hawthorn played Geebung at the G right now, dunno I'd back Geebung... But David has Geebung at 5 and Hawthorn 13.

Hmm... Tempted to have a nibble on Haw. Mebbe at the line... Yeah, Geebung beat up Ess... But they have a huge record against Ess.
Geebung 1.56
Haw 2.44
Line: 10.5

(For what it’s worth, I never look at the actual ladder before I do this, just results.) |
Sheesh... I assume you see the actual ladder some time after each round... Then you'd need to have amnesia not to have some idea where teams are. One dude on here has amnesia, but I assume you don't.
